Common traits of emotional abusers

Unfortunately, some Cranberry Township residents have been the victim of domestic abuse. Domestic abuse can take many different forms, including sexual abuse, physical abuse and emotional abuse. There are certain traits that are common to emotional abusers that a potential mate may want to look out for.

Some common traits of emotional abusers include expressing no emotion and not taking responsibility for their faults. They can also be charming and overconfident, really nice one minute and the next minute mean, lack maturity and have problems communicating. An emotional abuser often shows jealously, lacks emotional self-control and often play the victim. They can also try and come off as a perfect person and are concerned with their image.

Recognizing the signs of an abuser can be a first step in either avoiding a relationship with them in the first place or ending a current relationship. Often an abusive relationship can be very difficult for the victim to leave. If this is the case for a victim, they may want to speak with a legal professional who specializes in domestic abuser. An attorney can educate their client about what legal options are available to them and can help them get a protective order. A victim's safety is an attorney's number one priority and they make sure their client gets the help they need.

Domestic abuse in any form is something that affects millions of men and women each year. It is important to keep victims safe from their abusers as oftentimes these relationships can turn violent. Protective orders are there to keep victims and their families safe.
